About this Event
What does a body look like when photographed?
How does a body feel when inhabited? In what ways can a body be captured-or elude capture-through a lens?
"A Body" brings together eight photographers who examine their own bodies of work for renditions of the physical form. Their approaches vary: for some, the body emerges in self-portraits, documenting their own identities; for others, it takes shape in portraits of others, weaving narrative worlds around them. For others still the body serves as a medium to unravel and materialize abstract or conceptual ideas within a frame.
In these works that span mediums and techniques, we see the body as a landscape, a lover, a mirror, an enigma, a friend.
