About this Event
Poppy seed, onion, plain, with or without a "shmear"? You've been eating them for years. Bagels are an integral part of our American culture. But where did they come from? How did they become a staple of our diets? Why are they so delicious? And frankly, what IS the difference between a bagel and a bialy?
Join us in person in the Sherman Oaks Library community room for a history of the bagel and a tasting of some of the best bagels in town from Sherman Oaks's own Hank's Bagels. You've seen the lines form outside and you know how disappointed you feel when your favorite flavor is sold out. Come and see why Hank's is called the best bagel in Los Angeles and discover why bagels are part of our culture.
Note: This program is limited to 40 participants. You must have a ticket to attend.
Presented by the Sherman Oaks Friends of the Library.
