The idea for this work came up in 2018, when the artist Dalibor Šandor asked the critical question of why Pina Bausch never made a version of her most famous work Kontakthof with disabled artists. Pina Bausch, perhaps the most famous German choreographer and co-founder of dance theatre, developed the original version in 1978 with her ensemble of non-disabled dancers and later re- staged a version with non-disabled senior citizens in 2000 and with teenagers in 2008.
Dis Contact is neither a reinterpretation nor a reconstruction of Kontakthof, but a work that creates new places of contact between artists belonging to communities and cultures that are systematically oppressed in the world where Pina Bausch's Kontakthof has a prominent status.
Each of the invited artists for Dis Contact had their own observations about Kontakthof, out of which different non-normative perspectives to choreography, body and language were developed. The work refers to ethics and aesthetics based on care, solidarity and accessibility.

Die Idee zu dieser Arbeit entstand im Jahr 2018, als der Künstler Dalibor Šandor die kritische Frage stellte, warum Pina Bausch nie eine Version ihres wohl bekanntesten Werkes Kontakthof mit behinderten Künstler*innen gemacht hat. Die Originalversion entwickelte die vielleicht berühmteste deutsche Choreografin und Mitbegründerin des Tanztheaters 1978 mit ihrem Ensemble nicht-behinderter Tänzer*innen. Anschließend inszenierte sie im Jahr 2000 eine Version mit nicht-behinderten Senior*innen sowie 2008 mit Teenager*innen.
Dis Contact ist weder Neuinterpretation noch Rekonstruktion von Kontakthof. Das Stück schafft neue Orte des Kontakts zwischen Künstler*innen aus Gemeinschaften und Kulturen, die in der Welt, in der Kontakthof von Pina Bausch einen herausragenden Status hat, systematisch unterdrückt werden.
Jede*r der eingeladenen Künstler*innen in diesem Projekt bringt eigene Beobachtungen über Kontakthof aus verschiedenen nicht-normativen Perspektiven auf Choreografie, Körper und Sprache mit. Dis Contact bezieht sich auf eine Ethik und Ästhetik der Fürsorge, Solidarität und Zugänglichkeit.

• Der Bühnenraum ist ziemlich hell gehalten und enthält auch farbige Lichter.

• In einem der Lieder gibt es einen tiefen, dröhnenden Grundton.
Publikum
• Bestuhlte Tribüne

• Das Publikum sitzt nie im Dunkeln. Ein bis zwei Mal, wird der Publikumsbereich grün beleuchtet.
• Es gibt eine Szene, in der die Besucher aufgefordert werden, sich bestimmte Landschaften und imaginäre Kreaturen vorzustellen.

Falls die Tür zum Saal aus künstlerischen Gründen erst sehr kurz vor Vorstellungsbeginn öffnet, besteht die Möglichkeit zum Early Boarding.
