Event: The Green-Meldrim House will host an early evening classical guitar musicale of mid-nineteenth century songs in its Drawing Rooms. As part of the program, Harrison and Virginia Carter will present a dancing demonstration. Attendees will be encouraged to join in with singing and dancing. Costuming is also encouraged but not required. Refreshments will be offered at intermission. “The program gives patrons an opportunity to hear the type of popular music listened to by those living in the Green home during the Civil War era. There is something authentic about hearing period music in a historic house. The dancing component offers a glimpse of life when intergenerational dancing in the home was a pastime,” said Jamie Credle, Executive Director, Green-Meldrim House.Additionally: Bella Harmony – Audrey Allgaier and Joe Flander will provide the musical entertainment.
Admission: $20 per person in advance, $35 per couple. $22 at the door per person.
