Join us for the closing giveaway of Detroit based printmaker Amos Kennedy Jr.’s exhibition this August.

__We invite ALL visitors to remove a print that resonates with them or for a loved one until the gallery becomes absent of prints.

__about the artist
Amos Paul Kennedy Jr. (born 1948) is an American printer, book artist and papermaker best known for social and political commentary, particularly in printed posters. One critic noted that Kennedy is “...unafraid of asking uncomfortable questions about race and artistic pretension.” (Wikipedia)

Amos has been known to describe himself as “a humble Negro printer.”

Amos’ work has been in numerous exhibitions at galleries and museums. Over 6,000 homes get to experience his love imbued in print daily. His work is in collections such as the Newberry Library and the Library of Congress.

The last time our city experienced his practice was 1979. Join me in welcoming Amos back to our community, where he once lived and where his son was born at a birth center that once existed in our neighborhood.
