Weeeeere Baaaaack!
Join us for the 9th Annual Run to Remember!
Come join the Beard vs Beans brothers, Miguel and Matt as they team up with the Alzheimer’s Association to bring you Run To Remember. This is the 9th annual Run to Remember. Run to Remember will be a chip timed 5k/10k race and we are adding in a 0.5k Beer Run for those who choose not to run long distance and was added at the request of Matt with Team Beard (for him). All 5k/10k finishers will receive a shirt and finishers medal. All 0.5k Beer Run finishers will receive a Beer Mug! Location To be determined as we are still dealing with Covid restrictions. We are working on a 2 part medal to piece together with ThheLongest Day 5k/10k medal which will take place on June 19th, the day prior.
This is the first 4th year Beard vs Beans will be hosting Run to Remember, and we have 3 goals for this race
1. Bring our families, friends, caregivers and community together to help ENDALZ together.
2. We want to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle for your mind and body, while bringing awareness to Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
3. Fiesta!
The Alzheimer’s Association’s mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. All funds raised will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association, San Antonio & South Texas Chapter. 5.7 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s
Beard vs Beans was founded on Brotherly Rivalry! Miguel (Beans) and Matt (Beard) raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association by hosting multiple events throughout the year with a Main Event to conclude their competitive fundraising. Year 1 ended with a just under $4k raised and Matt shaving his beloved beard. Year 2 ended with over $8k raised under 2 campaigns, The Longest Day and The Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and again Matt suffered a loss getting a tattoo forever embodying Miguel’s face and the hashtag #ENDALZ. Yes, we are serious about what we do! We've lost count since then but we know we've raised over 45k since 2017 and all of that has gone directly to The Alzheimer's Association of San Antonio and South Texas.
