Join Sam's KIDS and friends from the community as we campout for a coat! Camp headquarters will be located in downtown Newport on South James Street, across from James Street Tavern... while we will also offer the opportunity to campout in your backyard.
Any place you can throw a tent down and sleep outside in the elements. Join us in Newport OR your own backyard.
How it works: each camper will receive a donation link to send to their friends, family, and colleagues. No donation is too small. All money raised will go to the purchase of brand-new Operation Warm Coats for select elementary schools right here in Delaware!

After learning about the high percentages of children living at or below the poverty line in our local elementary schools between the Newport, Stanton and the Wilmington area, Sam's KIDS partnered with national non-profit coat manufacturer/distributor, Operation Warm. The mission is simple: provide EVERY child at EVERY school a brand-new Operation Warm coat. Since 2017, this campaign has helped acquire and deliver over 16,000 coats throughout Delaware.
A new coat for a child creates a sense of pride, offers physical and emotional warmth, boosts confidence and self-esteem, increases peer acceptance and improves daily attendance in school. It’s more than a coat. Altogether, this creates a stronger foundation for our community.
Our Annual Camp Kick-Off Happy Hour Celebration (NOW ON A SATURDAY!) will be hosted at our Newport Campsite featuring live music, food, drinks, silent auction, bonfires, fire-side chats and much more! Join us for one Delaware's most unique (and challenging) fundraisers!
