Calling all poets, dreamers, and truth-tellers! The 9th Annual Langston Hughes Poetry Slam returns Nov. 14th as the penultimate event of Achievement Week with this year’s theme: “Dreams Deferred, Still We Rise.” 🔥🎤 Last year we gave away $850 in scholarships, showcased 8 poets from 4 campuses, and packed the house with 150+ people. This year we’re going BIGGER—12 poets from 5 different campuses, guest performers, and even larger prizes! 🌟Come join us for a night of powerful words and creative expression at the University of Rochester's Hubbell Auditorium in Hutchison Hall. Whether you're a seasoned poet or just love listening to spoken word, this slam is the place to be. Get ready to snap your fingers and be moved by the rhythm of the spoken word.
