Our annual Book Fest offers a vibrant glimpse into the African American experience through arts, literature, and storytelling. This year’s theme, “Empowered to Speak: Freedom Dreams,” invites attendees to explore the voices, visions, and narratives that shape our past, present, and future.
We are honored to welcome keynote speaker Tomi Adeyemi, acclaimed author of , whose work amplifies Black identity, culture, and imagination on a global stage. Free tickets are required to attend the keynote. Tickets will be made available right here on Saturday, May 30 at 5 p.m. Keynote seating will start at 1 p.m. and the keynote will begin at 2 p.m.
About Tomi Adeyemi
Named one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People, Tomi Adeyemi is a Hugo- and Nebula Award–winning writer, speaker, and model based in New York, New York. After graduating from Harvard University with an honors degree in English literature, she wrote her groundbreaking, instant #1 New York Times-bestselling series, which includes Children of Blood and Bone, Children of Virtue and Vengeance, and Children of Anguish and Anarchy. Tomi’s trilogy has sold over 3 million copies around the world, and its highly anticipated adaptation stars Viola Davis, Cynthia Erivo, Idris Elba, Regina King, and more. The adaptation is set for release in IMAX and theaters January 15th, 2027. her new book, The Siren, will be out September, 29th, 2026. When she is not busy writing, Tomi can be found kicking ass in her local boxing gym.
