Maeve Yanes
Maeve is currently a student in her second year at Penn State University in the Smeal School of Business with intentions to become an Entertainment Lawyer. Maeve’s work with Star of the Day began in seventh grade and a Fall Production of Annie Jr. From there Maeve spent equal parts of her time with Star of the Day on and off the stage. Maeve was onstage in productions of Children of Eden, Scrooge, Freaky Friday, and her favorite role as Davey in Newsies. Maeve also participated in Summer Spotlight Academy starting with Beauty and the Beast, playing Mal in Descendants, and her favorite role as Paulette in Legally Blonde.
Maeve also participated in the apprenticeship program as a stage manager and as a director eventually taking on her first solo stage manager role for Star of the Day with the play Tidings. Maeve has stayed involved with Star of the Day working primarily with Camp Little Stars and the Summer Spotlight Academy as a Stage Manager.
Maeve has been recognized for her work with Star of the Day by receiving the Apprentice of the Year Award in 2019 and the Passion in Performance Senior Scholarship Award in 2021.
Outside of Star of the Day, Maeve is the PSU LV Benefitting THON campus chair. She is a production mentor for the Emmaus High School Theatre program after serving as Freddy Award-winning stage manager and is on the United Way Teenworks Board.
Corinne Fecho
Cori has been working with Star of the Day since Maeve was in seventh grade as a volunteer. Her work all started with her love for working with the Popcorn machine. From there, you could find Cori at every production in some capacity from working concessions, working at the front door as an usher, or working as a backstage parent. Cori is always happy to lend a hand with any production by sewing costumes, hanging curtains, cleaning up, painting, or laying the infamous Marley floor so our dancers are safe. Cori also loves helping at the summer Spotlight Academies as a volunteer where she picked up the endearing nickname of Mrs. Maeve’s Mom.
Cori has been recognized for her work with Star of the Day by receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2021 and the Founder’s Award in 2024.
Outside Star of the Day, Cori volunteers with the Emmaus High School Theatre program as the Front of House Manager and with fundraising efforts. Cori also serves as a Board Member with United Way Teenworks.
