The Freeburg Homecoming Committee is excited to announce the 97th Annual Homecoming will take place on August 20-21, 2021, at the Freeburg Recreation Park. We are very enthusiastic about the new entertainment, food, and events we will be adding this year.
Friday, August 20th, kicks off the festivities at 4 pm with carnival rides, games, and great food. As always, St. Joseph’s Church starts our weekend with their fantastic fish fry along with the FCAA ballpark fare of hamburgers, hot dogs, and brats! Friday night entertainment will be provided by Throw the Horns.
The Homecoming Committee is thrilled to announce a new event on the track! -H Rodeo will be presenting a two-day rodeo starting at 7:30 pm on both Friday & Saturday nights. Events include barrel racing, calf roping, team roping, breakaway roping, bareback/saddle bronc riding, and BULL RIDING!
Saturday continues the tradition with the washer tournament; sign-up at 10 am, with the games starting at 11 am. The Children’s Matinee will feature a $15 armband for all carnival rides from 1 pm-4 pm. George Portz & The Friends of Bluegrass will once again provide toe-tapping music during the matinee. Don’t forget about the annual parade that steps off at 5:30 pm. Enjoy the Saturday night chicken dinner, then make your way over to the rodeo or listen to Bullseye Womprats for your evening entertainment. Be sure to stay after the rodeo to watch the firework show that will begin at 9:45 pm.
We look forward to providing you with a new Hi-Low game operated by the Freeburg Rotary; enjoy the various craft vendors, grandstand seating for the rodeo, DQ blizzards, and homemade cakes.
The Annual Freeburg Homecoming is made possible through generous donations and sponsorships. We continue to be thankful for your help as a community to make the 97th Annual Homecoming worthwhile. The Freeburg Park District has committed that all the funds raised this year will go toward the Park Enhancement Fund. In addition, there are many expenses to make this event successful; the cost of the Shriners, the Musical Entertainment, and -H Rodeo are more than $20,000 every year!
If you are interested in sponsoring the 2021 Freeburg Homecoming or any questions, please contact the committee directly at [email protected] or contact Sharon Marquardt at 618-304-8679.
Thank you in advance for your support and we hope you enjoy the 97th Freeburg Homecoming!
