ALL LEVELS WELCOMEYin and yang is a concept that originated in Chinese philosophy, describing opposite but interconnected, mutually perpetuating forces.
This workshop will begin with an active, dynamic yang style vinyasa practice led by Virginia. As the sequence progresses, we will move into the second half of the workshop which will begin a yin practice with longer held passive shapes exercising connective tissues, ligaments and tendons led by Amanda K.
Students will have the opportunity for numerous hands on assists during both the yang and yin portions of the workshop as both instructors will be available to offer support and adjustments.
Cultivating the art of stillness in movement and the flow in stillness.
Virginia is an E-RYT 200 with over 2000 hours of teaching experience. She also has completed continuing education hours in adjusting and assisting postures, anatomy & physiology, and pranayama (breathing techniques). After taking her first yoga class in 2005, Virginia knew she wanted to share her passion for the practice. She began teaching small groups and private classes in 2007. This led to her quitting her professional life and dedicating herself to teaching full time at Yoga Strong. You can expect an alignment focused flow with breathing techniques purposefully directed to various areas of the body. Virginia loves matching her music playlists to the pace and intention of the class. Her hope is that you have so much fun moving your body and breathing that you forget about the world outside of the studio for just that one hour. Leave feeling empowered to take on whatever your day brings.
Amanda K is passionate about guiding experiences that inspire authentic connection and spiritual integration. Always a dedicated student, she holds certifications as a RYT® 200 Energy Power Yoga Teacher, a Sacred Calm Restorative Yoga Teacher and a certified Yin Yoga Instructor with additional training in Pain Theory and Focused Applied Anatomy of the Hips, Spine & Core. Amanda holds a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology
