Activity Name: 9-Week Acrylic Painting Workshop: Expanding the Basics

Recommended Ages: Teen- Adult

Dates: Every Friday February 27-May 1 from 6-9pm (no class 4/10 due to Spring Break)

Activity Description: This 9-week course, appropriate for beginner and intermediate-level artists alike, will teach students about the importance of and how to incorporate composition, a fundamental element of art, into their paintings. Throughout this course, students will learn how to create unique pieces of art with amazing compositions using multiple photo references.

Participants will also learn about value and contrast as they apply to composition. The instructor will teach the concept of balance in composition, plus the importance of the process of developing composition by designing and planning before beginning to paint. This course teaches the basics of acrylic painting and expands upon them by introducing new brushes and supplies in a way that is easy to understand. Each session is approximately 3 hours long. We highly recommend attending all classes in the workshop, as each class builds on the last. However, we allow drop-ins for individual sessions.

Price: $450 for the entire workshop for non-members or $425 for members. Pre-paid credits cannot be applied to this course. More Information: This is considered a Level 2 Beginner Class. This class level is perfect for beginner level painters wishing to advance and build upon what we teach in our one-day beginner level paint classes. In this level, the student will learn the fundamentals of painting and color blending and the basic skills needed to create an amazing painting, guided by an experienced artist. This class expands on the basic fundamentals taught in our Back to the Basics Level 1 classes allowing the students to expand their talents and create a beautiful piece of art.
