The City of Sequim, in collaboration with Clallam County Fire District 3, invites the community to join together for a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony on Thursday, September 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at the Sequim Civic Center Plaza, 152 West Cedar Street. In 2011, three officers from the Sequim Police Department traveled 6,000 miles to bring an artifact from the fallen World Trade Center to Sequim. The ceremony will take place at the artifact’s site, under the flagpole at the Sequim Civic Center.
Community members, friends, and families are welcomed to participate in this day of communal recognition and reflection. The ceremony is open to the public, allowing attendees to either gather at the Civic Center Plaza or watch the event from their homes as it will be livestreamed online.
For those choosing to attend virtually, a livestream of the ceremony will be accessible. Further details on accessing the livestream will be updated here.
