Please join us at the 8th annual Spring Intercultural Champion Awards - Promoting Equity in Healthcare Access luncheon event to celebrate the partnerships that are helping our community thrive through the COVID crisis and beyond! We'll be honoring three awardees who have closely partnered with us this past year to support access to healthcare for diverse populations, including immigrants and refugees.

Spring Institute has been serving our immigrant and refugee community for over 40 years, including through numerous community partnerships, with a range of offerings such as adult education, job preparation support, career counseling, health literacy training, cultural navigation, early childhood education, youth empowerment programs, interpretation and translation services, and policy advocacy.

The annual Intercultural Champion Awards is Spring Institute’s premiere fundraising event, and this year we look forward to reuniting in person for a delicious lunch by Nosh Catering in the iconic open-air, fully covered setting of Denver's City Park Pavilion. Your attendance will help us celebrate the partnerships that promote equity in healthcare access and also allow us to continue offering a range of services that empower immigrants, refugees, and low income community members while bolstering the welcoming community.

The recipients of our 8th Annual Spring Intercultural Champion Awards are:

  • , founded as a city hospital in 1860, provides hospital and emergency care to the public, regardless of ability to pay. This integration promotes continuity of care for each patient and assures health care that is delivered in the most efficient, cost-effective setting.
  • Representative Naquetta Ricks (HD40), prime sponsor of HB22-1050 (International Medical Graduate Integrate Healthcare Workforce), legislation to ease barriers for internationally-trained doctors seeking medical licensure in Colorado
  • Ms. Malalai Mommandi, a Dari and Pashto interpreter for The Interpreter Network by Spring Institute

Our keynote speaker is Dr. Dwinita Mosby Tyler, Chief Catalyst and Founder of The Equity Project.

Registration closes Friday, September 23 at Noon.

NOTE: Covid-19 vaccination requirement for event attendees

We look forward to gathering together in person to celebrate the community we love, and we are prioritizing health and safety for all who join us. Covid-19 is NOT an invited guest! Given ongoing and evolving concerns about the spread of Covid-19 in the Denver area, we have chosen an open-air venue for our event, individual boxed lunches will be served, and we are requiring that all attendees must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Alternatively, attendees may present documentation of a negative Covid-19 test from within 48 hours preceding the event. Attendees will be asked to show their vaccination card (or a photo of it) or documentation of their negative test result during check-in. Those who cannot produce this information will not be admitted.

Regardless of vaccination status, anyone who is experiencing symptoms of illness, tests positive for Covid-19, or is awaiting results of a Covid-19 test at the time of the event should NOT attend.

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and commitment to our collective well-being.
