Kids ages 15 and younger and their families are invited to come out to Ship Creek for a day of fishing, fun, and giveaways!The portion of Ship Creek from the C Street bridge upstream to The Bridge Restaurant is designated by the State of Alaska as a youth-only fishery for kids ages 15 and under from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Schedule:
6:00 am: Ship Creek “Youth Only Fishery” opens for youth-only fishing.
*Based on the tide, the time for the best fishing on Saturday, June 15 will be roughly 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. It’s a small tide this year: 26 ft.
12:30 pm: Line up along the pedestrian bridge for a group photo, gift bags and hot dogs. The line will start at The Bait Shack.
11:00 pm: Creek closes to fishing and reopens Sunday at 6 a.m. to all anglers.
This event coincides with the Slam'n Salm'n Derby, which includes a Youth class. Derby tickets must be purchase prior to fishing, and are available at The Bait Shack. Learn more about the Derby at:
