8th Annual Ladies' Ornament Exchange Benefiting Breakthrough T1D!

The holidays are almost here and our 8th Annual Ladies Ornament Exchange is coming back to Winston's on the Green on December 3rd!

This beloved ornament exchange has grown to become a fantastic holiday charity event and this year we will benefit Breakthrough T1D, formerly known as JDRF. As the leading global Type 1 Diabetes research and advocacy organization, T1D helps make everyday life better while driving toward cures. They lead the way to more effective solutions by connecting the brightest minds to advance treatments, influence policy and improve access to care.

With nearly 9 million people living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) around the world, it is one of the fastest growing noncommunicable, chronic health conditions on the planet. Type 1 diabetes is a chronic autoimmune disease and a forever condition. Anyone can be diagnosed with T1D at any age, though it usually is diagnosed in childhood or adolescence. In T1D, the body'simmune systems attacks the insulin produing cells in the pancreas. Insulin is an essential hormone that helps the body turn food into energy. People living with T1D must take insulin by injection or insulin pump to survive.

During this event, we will be raising money for Breakthrough T1D through gift basket raffles, a silent auction and direct donations can be made through the link in the Q & A.

Cash or check can be accepted for the raffle ticket sales and silent auction items, as well as electronic payments through a QR code at the event. Checks can be made directly to Breakthrough T1D and ALL cash collected for raffles/auction will go straight to the charity.

Winston's will be serving dinner from a pre-fixed menu, and their bar staff will be there all evening serving your favorite cocktails! Prices will vary per menu item.

For those of you who have never been to an ornament exchange, here's how the ornament exchange works: All participants bring a WRAPPED ornament (like a $5-10 ornament) and be sure to put a tag of who it is from. At the end of the night, everyone who brought an ornament will go home with an ornament from another guest! YOU DO NOT NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ORNAMENT EXCHANGE TO COME TO THE EVENT!

BRING CASH FOR A CASH RAFFLE! In addition to the charity raffles, we will keep tradition and be doing the holiday shopping cash raffle again! Raffle tickets are $5 each, cash only, and the winner goes home with the ENTIRE POT OF CASH for the holiday! Last year's winner won over $800! (There is an ATM machine onsite if you forget cash!)
