https://alrco.org/ride-on-military-pride-romp/We are going back to Buena Vista 5,6 September 2025 for our 8th Annual Colorado ALR Ride On Military Pride (ROMP) Event. The event schedule is as follows:
Friday 5 September:
- Lunch enroute at Post 172 in Fairplay, CO for donation 1200-1400. Hosted at and by Post 172 601 Clark St, Fairplay, CO with ALR209 support. Lunch proceeds to Post 172.
- Most Hotels and house rentals start at either 3 or 4pm…Depart Fairplay at your leisure to meet your check-in time.
- 5pm: ROMP Check-in/T-shirt issue at VFW Post 1166, 27318 Co Rd 314, Buena Vista, CO
- There will be Walking dice run stations conducted at VFW Post 1166 Buena Vista
- Friday Dinner will be Burgers/Brats, chips, potato or macaroni salad (included in ROMP registration) at VFW Post 1166. We have a handful who have volunteers to burn the meat, feel free to chip in!
Saturday 6 September
- Late check-in is 8:00-8:30 with breakfast at 8:30am Saturday morning at Post 55 Buena Vista, 338 N Railroad St, Buena Vista, CO (included in ROMP registration).
- The Saturday Dice Run Safety Brief and 9/11 commemoration will be at 9:30am followed by a 10am KSU/Departure.
- The dice run route for 2025 will go from Post 55 to Highline Café in Hartsel, then to Wild Spirit in Guffy, The WhiteWater Bar & Grill on Hwy 50 near Royal Gorge, 50 Burger in Salida, then back to VFW Post 1166 Buena Vista.
- The bike rodeo, social gathering will be at Post 1166
- Bike Rodeo begins after Last Bike in.
- There will be laser engraved plaques for the winner in the Rodeo events: slalom, two-up slalom (plaque for each team member), trike slalom, slow-drag and weenie bite (plaque for each team member).
- Dinner by Nana’s BBQ from Pueblo – 16 foot competition BBQ trailer serving a wide variety of pit-smoked meats & Southern-style vegetable side dishes (Order off menu, not included in ROMP registration). https://www.facebook.com/pueblosbestbbq/
