The Brockville Country Club (BCC) is honoured to have been chosen by Golf Ontario to host the 89th playing of the Ontario Senior Men’s Amateur of Championship from July 22-25, 2024. The BCC recently hosted the highly successful 2021 Golf Ontario Junior Girls Championship. Plenty of dedicated volunteers, a challenging golf course, knowledgeable service staff and small-town hospitality all add up to successful provincial golf tournaments at courses like the BCC.2021 Ontario Junior Girls’ Host Tournament Chair - David Dargie and Volunteer Chair - Linda Lumsden return to lead the estimated 60-75 volunteers who will assist and support the provincial staff and officials charged with the operation of this championship.
Preliminary plans will see a Practice Round on July 22nd. Hockey Hall of Fame member Larry Robinson has committed to acting as Honorary Chairman for the championship. He will be hosting a reception for the players and members of the public that will feature a cocktail party and “Hot Stove” discussion with Larry and several other NHL alumni following the practice round.
The entire field of 156 players will compete on July 23rd and 24th with morning and afternoon draws being used on both days. There will be a 36 hole cut to the low 60 players and ties following the completion of the second round. Those remaining players will then compete in a morning draw on July 25th . Qualifying for this 54 hole provincial championship will take place throughout 9 different locations in Ontario to determine the field of 156 players.
