Lenoir-Rhyne is set to host it's annual 828 celebration at Helen & Leonard Moretz Stadium on Friday, August 29th, 2025. Presented by FryeCare Orthopedics and Neurosurgery, this year's 828 Day will take place a day later than normal in order to include a watch party for Lenoir-Rhyne Football's season opener at West Florida. The gates open for this free event at 5:30 with the football watch party kickoff taking place at 7:00 on the field. All Lenoir-Rhyne Football fans are encouraged to watch the Bears take on national power West Florida on the video board at the west end of Moretz Stadium. Bring a lawn chair as a special section will be blocked off for the best view of the game.
Mobile food stands include Hot Shots, Gas Up, and Pelicans. The first 100 kids in the gate will get a voucher for a free Pelican sno cone. Also included will be photo ops with Joe Bear, face painting, and various interactive games with each of the different Lenoir-Rhyne athletic programs and student-athletes.
828 Day was established in 2018 to give back to the Hickory and greater Unifour Community while recognizing the critical role their support plays in the success development of our student-athletes to be champions in life.
