The 8th annual Ulfhednar Winter Bolt is held Saturday the 14th of February 2026 in field and forrest terrain in Elverum, 1,5 hours drive north from the Oslo International Airport. 12+ varied stages, aprox 120 rounds and hopefully in rough (but nice) winter conditions. This competition will measure many of your basic shooting skills, the precision and the long range capabilities of you and your equipment in Norwegian winter. Ranges from 100 - 550 meters in two different fields 7-8 km meters apart. Stage descriptions will be presented at the stages and at registration on match day. Together with our sponsors we have assembled a very nice prize table. Prizes and awards will be presented during the complimentary banquet and prize ceremony directly after the competition, Saturday evening.
Ulfhednar Winter Bolt is a bolt rifle only contest! Maximum caliber is .338. We follow general rules for sport shooting in relation to how we handle the rifle in and outside the competition, before, during, after and between stages.
For shooters with rifles weighing less than 5,5 kg we recommend to sign in the "Hunter" class. This is max weight on rifle (incl all connected parts) at any stage during the event. New this year is that we have a own class for MAGNUM calibers!! This is, as far as we know, the first time at an event of this kind. All divisions compete for the same main trophy (the Viking horn), medals and raffle prizes from our sponsors. All division winners will receive a engraved barrel blank from one of our sponsors.
