Burnout Society Film Club's got cabin fever, so we're hitting the high seas and High C's for a "mARRch Musical" pirate double feature!Since spring can be a tricky scheduling time with all the uptick in concerts, but we an adaptable lot of movie maniacs, so this event is on a MONDAY!
First up:
8pm PIRATES OF PENZANCE (1983) The legendary 1879 Gilbert & Sullivan opera as adapted from the legendary 1980 Broadway update by Joseph Papp. Featuring Kevin Kline, Linda Rondstat, and Rex Smith in a story of a young man apprenticed as pirate dealing with love and conflicting duty.
10pm INTERMISSION TRIVIA Answer tricky questions in 3 rounds of themed trivia for a chance at bragging rights and fun prizes!
11pm MUPPET TREASURE ISLAND (1996) An orphan boy is discovers a treasure map and is drawn into an epic sea faring swashbuckling adventure with the Muppet crew and Tim Curry, too! As adapted from the 1883 Robert Lewis Stevenson story.
