Spring Institute's annual award ceremony & luncheon celebrates partnerships that are helping the community thrive.
About this Event

Please join us at the 7th annual Spring Intercultural Champion Awards - Supporting Community Through Partnerships luncheon event to celebrate the partnerships that are helping our community thrive through the COVID crisis and beyond! We'll be honoring two organizations and an individual leader whose dedication and innovation have strengthened our community during particularly challenging times.

Spring Institute has been serving our immigrant and refugee community for over 40 years, including through numerous community partnerships, with a range of offerings such as adult education, job preparation support, career counseling, health literacy training, cultural navigation, early childhood education, youth empowerment programs, interpretation and translation services, and policy advocacy.

The annual Intercultural Champion Awards is Spring Institute’s premiere fundraising event, and this year we look forward to reuniting in person for a delicious lunch from in the iconic open-air, fully covered setting of Denver's City Park Pavilion. Your attendance will help us celebrate the partnerships that have sustained us all over the past many months and also allow us to continue offering services that empower immigrants, refugees, and low income community members and bolster the welcoming community.

This year's ceremony honors awardees who have partnered with Spring Institute through the COVID crisis and beyond and features master of ceremonies Shaun Boyd, award winning CBS4 veteran reporter who has lifted up Spring Institute covering issues important to the immigrant and refugee community.

We'll also enjoy the musical talents of the incredible duo of renowned Flamenco guitarist Miguel Espinoza and cellist Dianne Betkowski.

NOTE: Covid-19 vaccination requirement for event attendees

We look forward to gathering together in person to celebrate the community we love, and we are prioritizing health and safety for all who join us. Covid-19 is NOT an invited guest! Given ongoing and evolving concerns about the spread of Covid-19 in the Denver area, we have chosen an open-air venue for our event, individual boxed lunches will be served, and we are requiring that all attendees must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Alternatively, attendees may present documentation of a negative Covid-19 test from within 48 hours preceding the event. Attendees will be asked to show their vaccination card (or a photo of it) or documentation of their negative test result during check-in. Those who cannot produce this information will not be admitted.

Regardless of vaccination status, anyone who is experiencing symptoms of illness, tests positive for Covid-19, or is awaiting results of a Covid-19 test at the time of the event should NOT attend.

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and commitment to our collective well-being.

The recipients of our 7th Annual Spring Intercultural Champion Awards are:

  • , a coalition that supports the growth of Colorado’s youngest children and their families through public awareness, policy development and advocacy efforts. Raise Colorado's partnership has been invaluable in Spring Institute's advocacy to ensure that immigrant and refugee families have access to quality early childhood education and care.
  • , Colorado's leading frontline anti-hunger organization that provides nutritious groceries and anti-hunger resources to individuals and families in our community. Its partnership with Spring Institute has been particularly important in the past year, providing food to immigrant and refugee families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • , the Executive Director of Lifespan Local, a nonprofit based in Southwest Denver to activate community-driven solutions to elevate community voices. Dr. Prado formerly served on Spring Institute’s Board of Directors and was the project visionary behind the Mental Health Center of Denver’s Dahlia Campus for Health & Well-Being.
