With the ongoing permission of the Hardin family, the now annual Paul Hardin Memorial Out and Back will again be a fundraiser for the SBC's Community Bike Shop at the Fairbanks. (All funds raised by shop sales go directly to the Fairbanks - this fundraiser helps the shop keep stocked up with tubes, chain oil, rags, parts, etc, etc.)The beauty of this out-and-back format, is that you can ride for as long or as short as you want by simply turning around and heading back to the Mothership when you are ready to. Or, if you want, ride the entire 200k out to Cooky’s Pie Shop in Golden City.
Pace shouldn't be too horrific - probably 16-18 mph average moving speed for the 200k group. Easy up the hills and really just spinning some long miles into the legs to help those in their build-up for the upcoming MidSouth gravel/mud festival in two weeks.
Here is the route: https://www.strava.com/routes/7594474

FYI - the one and only @Bob Collier will be leading a 23 mile out and back (total) at 9:31 am at a nice steady pace for folks wanting to get out and support the shop, but hoping for something this side of Golden City! This ride option will be an Out and Back to the gas station at HWY N. Approx. 23 miles total. A casual no-drop ride.
$25 donations respectfully – any amount more also gratefully received. #fortheloveofsport Rain or shine. But not lightning.
Please park in the free, multi-story parking lot on the corner of McDaniel and Market (across from SBC) - enter off Campbell. This way your vehicle will not take up parking for Saturday SBC customers heading to their weekend brunch! Many thanks!!!
