Lena Lions Club 71st Annual Fall Festival - Lena, IL
September 9th & 10th
Announcing the Lena Lions 71st Annual Fall Festival, known as “The Cadillac of Small Town Festivals” will be held in downtown Lena on September 9th & 10th.
Free entertainment on Friday – 7:00 pm – The CROSS CUT BAND is a family friendly four piece band out of Freeport, IL. The band plays older hits, both rock and country and has been together since the late 90’s. Look forward to an evening of old music and fun with the Cross Cut Band!
Saturday night – The MADDMEN are back by popular demand at the 7:00 & 9:00 pm shows on Saturday evening! Classic Rock & Roll, Blues, Classic Country, and more! The current MADDMEN are an advanced incarnation of the NOMADDS, a wildly popular local garage band from the 60’s!
A 50/50 CASH RAFFLE will be offered again this year! Tickets are available for $10.00 each from Lion members or at the Festival! Don’t miss out! Winning ticket will be drawn on Saturday, September 10th at the close of the Festival.
The Lena Lions will also sell raffle tickets for the 2022 Polaris UTV to be given away on Saturday at approximately 11:00 pm. The tickets cost $10.00 per ticket or 3 for $20.00. A $200 Lena Money gift certificate will be 2nd prize and a $100 Lena Money gift certificate will be 3rd prize.
Skinners Amusements returns for the 62nd year with carnival rides for all ages in the downtown parking lot (starting at 6:00 pm on Friday and 2:00 pm on Saturday). Merchandise Bingo and the Ham Stand, Lion’s operated long time favorites, will be in their usual places on Main Street. Please Note: No pets will be allowed on the midway except for service dogs for people with disabilities.
There will be food galore with the Lions famous “Pork Chop on a Stick”, Le-Win Sports Association Food Stand, among other favorites filling their usual spots. Favorites like cotton candy, elephant ears, ice cream and soft drinks will also be available.
The theme of this year’s parade is “Small Town – Big Heart”. The 100+ unit parade will be stepping off from the Old School Apartments at 12:00 noon on Saturday Sept.10th. A flyover by the Freeport Pilot’s Association will start our parade – taking the same route through town as previous years. High school bands, church floats, Scout and 4-H groups, antique and classic cars and antique tractors, along with area fire trucks will be featured. Kids are encouraged to decorate their bikes and participate in the parade! Parade entry registration starts at 9:00 a.m. (Please, no 4-wheel drive tractors, duals, or semis. A valid driver’s license will be required to drive tractor.) Look for the “pork chops on a stick” during the parade.
