As part of this year's FAIRCHILD AIRCRAFT 100th Anniversary Homecoming event, A special exhibit will celebrate the 70th Anniversary of a major motorsport event that took place at the Hagerstown Airport Oct 16th 1955 - "THE FAIRCHILD NATIONAL SPORTS CAR RACES." A variety of vintage SCCA race cars from that era will be displayed - including a 1955 Lotus IX that raced at Hagerstown in the first race of the day - "The Pegasus" by Len Bastrup. There will be a roundtable discussion and a video presentation with historical photographs and details of the event that took place October 16, 1955.
