Join us this year as we ride through Abbotsford on Remembrance Day in honour of our fallen. The origin of the Ride of Remembrance was an Act of Defiance against the government’s directive cancelling Remembrance Day services in 2020 because of Covid-19. As a veteran, I felt the directive was an act of dishonour to our fallen service members.
On November 11th, 2020, I attached a large Canadian flag to my bike and rode through Abbotsford alone, in honour of our fallen, ending at the Cenotaph at Matsqui Unit #315. Along the way, I was met with honks, applause and salutes.
The following year, others joined me. What began as a solo act has grown into an annual tradition, with more riders every year.
Today, the “Biker Battalion” proudly rides as part of Matsqui Unit #315’s Remembrance Day Services. The calvary is coming!
Canadian and military flags attached to your bikes are encouraged! We won’t be exceeding 50 kmph on the route.
A free luncheon will be served to all riders after the service.
Lest We Forget.
