6th Annual Cpl. Stephen J. Ballard Charity Golf Tournament

Proceeds from the 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament will benefit the Corporal Stephen J. Ballard Scholarship fund that supports the NOBLE collegiate students at Delaware State University, pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice or related fields.

In 2014, Corporal Ballard joined the Delaware NOBLE Chapter and was an active member impacting the lives of many throughout the state, especially the students majoring in Criminal Justice at Delaware State University.

Stephen was passionate about mentoring collegiate chapter members at his alma mater. He served as a true role model for students interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement. Cpl. Ballard spent time on campus with his big genuine smile and enthusiasm to assist students by professionally socializing with them, helping them prepare resumes and cover letters, mock interviews, finding internship opportunities, and helping students navigate the application and background check process for various jobs.

Because of his commitment to expanding mentoring opportunities for students at Delaware State, Stephen established fundraiser events used specifically to support collegiate members to participate in special and unique opportunities such as the newly established Police Officer Preparatory Academy (POPA) and the Annual NOBLE National Training Conferences.

Sadly, Delaware State Police Corporal Steven J. Ballard and a beloved member of our NOBLE Chapter was shot and killed in the line of duty on April 26, 2017.
