Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
It is my pleasure to extend this invitation to you for our 68th Annual Convention of the Atlanta Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (AACCW). This year our Convention will be held at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 675 Riverside Road, Roswell GA 30075, on September 20 – 22, 2024. All convention activities will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church, and all are welcome. Our 2024 theme is “Loving in the Goodness of God.” Please share this invitation with all clergy, women religious, women 18 years and older, your family, friends, all missions, parishes, and businesses that you patronize.
AACCW Convention Highlights:
Workshop Sessions:
● Spirituality – Lectio Divina, an ancient practice of praying the Scriptures led by Joanna Brunson, Coordinator for Contemplative Outreach’s Atlanta Chapter and member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Decatur Georgia.
● Service – Information on service opportunities & tips on coordinating service projects, Q&A and a presentation from Roswell Pregnancy Aid Center, includes an AACCW baby shower drive.
● Peace & Justice Workshop – Volunteers from The Catholic Shrine of the Immaculate Conception’s Bashor Homeless Men’s Shelter discuss issues of homelessness and share how you or your church community can help. “Whatever you do for the least of mine you do for me.”
● Self-Care Awareness – As women, we wear many hats as mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, students and workers and often care for others first. We will share information to help as we care for those we love and how to nurture ourselves spiritually, physically and mentally.
● AACCW 101 – All about the Atlanta Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women (AACCW) organization and our affiliates.
Service Projects:
●Friday: Pizza & Movie “Going Home Like a Shooting Star: Thea Bowman's Journey to Sainthood” will support Sister Thea Bowman Cause for Canonization, Catholic Diocese of Jackson.
