About this Event

$100 for entire series. Sorry, no drop-ins.
Prenatal Yoga is for all pregnant people at any gestational stage. This series focuses on preparing expecting parents for the birth of a new child in both physical and mental capacities and therfore is open to people on a non-traditional journey of conception as well (eg: surrogacy, adoption, etc.). Each series consists of a weekly gathering and begins with a check-in, as well as a short discussion guided by rotating weekly prompts. The yoga practice includes gentle movement guided and cued specifically for pregnancy, as well as breathwork and meditation to prepare for birth and postpartum.
What to Expect:
- Community Connection: Join other moms and pregnant parents in similar seasons of life and begin to build the village that will sustain you through parenthood.
- Embodied Awareness: Topics related to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum (including pelvic floor health, the role of hormones, labor positions, sounding, and more) will be woven through each asana (movement) practice to help pregnant parents feel at home in their changing bodies.
- Empowerment: Somatic practices like yoga and breathwork give us the space to experience the transformation of pregnancy and cultivate an internal compass for navigating decisions related to pregnancy, birth, and all of parenthood.
Takeaways from the series:
Pelvic Floor Awareness: what is the pelvic floor, what role does it play in pregnancy and postpartum, and how to move and breathe in a supportive way
Nervous System Regulation: breathwork, visualization, meditation, and sounding are a few of the tools utilized to help cope with the emotional and mental stressors of pregnancy
Labor Preparation: specific movements designed to move the pelvis in all directions ahead of birth and coping strategies for pain will all be added to your labor toolkit
Community Connection: Connect with other moms and pregnant parents in similar seasons. Listen, share, and begin to build the village that will sustain you through parenthood.
