- Duration: 6 weeks (6 classes, 2 hours per class)
- Cost: $200 for Beginner Level, $250 for Intermediate Level
- Location: The Potter’s House Art Studio

- First 25lbs of clay (Beginner Level) or 50lbs of clay (Intermediate Level)
- Use of studio tools
- Glaze, bisque firing, and glaze firing
- Glaze firing at just $1.00 per pound after the first 25lbs/50lbs of clay

Week 1: Introduction & Centering

Week 2: Throwing & Shaping
- Refining centering techniques.
- Focus on pulling up walls to create cylinders and basic shapes.
- Introduction to trimming techniques.
- Beginners work on consistency; intermediates focus on creating taller, thinner forms
Week 3: Bowls & Open Forms
- Throwing basic bowls and open forms.
- Shaping and refining the interior curve.
- Creating and trimming foot rings on bowls.
- Intermediate students explore creating larger bowls with decorative elements.
Week 4: Handles & Functional Forms
- How to pull and attach handles to create mugs or jugs.
- Exploring form and function: balancing aesthetics with practicality.
- Intermediate students begin working on more complex forms (e.g., lids, spouts).
Week 5: Altering & Decorating
- Altering wheel-thrown forms (faceting, paddling, or texturing).
- Introduction to surface decoration techniques like sgraffito and slip decoration.
- Intermediate students work on more advanced alterations or combining forms.
Week 6: Glazing & Final Touches
- Introduction to glazing techniques (dipping, brushing, layering).
- Preparing pieces for bisque and glaze firing.
- Reflection on progress and exploration of future projects.
