About this Event
Thursdays, 8 January to 12 February, 6 to 8 p.m.
Join fiction writer and workshop leader Rachel Wachman for this six week all-levels fiction incubator to explore what makes stories compelling, from characters and plot to setting and dialogue, and much more! Through a mix of guided prompts and thought exercises, this workshop will help you generate ideas and take you through the process of crafting a full short story from start to finish. Participants will also have the opportunity to give and receive peer feedback on their creative work.
This fiction incubator is perfect for you if you have never written fiction before and want to explore the genre, if you enjoy writing fiction and want to delve in further, or if you fall anywhere in between! Come prepared to participate in a supportive writing community designed to immerse you in the different elements of fiction and grow your confidence within the genre.
Concord-based professional writer Rachel Wachman is a lifelong lover of fiction. A journalist by day, she finds her true passion in creative storytelling often set in the past. She earned her BA in English and French at Wesleyan University, where she completed the first draft of a Civil War historical fiction novel (which she is still revising, so stay tuned!). In addition to numerous news articles, her work has been published in Months to Years, an online literary magazine centered around grief. Rachel recently began The Writing Circle, a dynamic monthly meetup for local creatives to write and share their work.
