Level 2 Beginning Woodworking builds upon the skills taught in the Level 1 class: how to read plans/drawings for a build, mill wood and use basic joinery.

In this class students are introduced to design, structural joinery and ways to shape wood. Participants will design and build a stool while learning basic rules of furniture design and how to ensure a piece can hold body weight. Students will carve mortise and tenon joints to connect the stool base to the top and shape the seats and legs according to their own style preferences.

Tools learned in this class include: Angle grinders, chisels, bandsaw, scrapers and files.

Prerequisites: 6-Week Beginning Woodworking (Level 1) or prior experience with precise measuring, milling wood using a planer, jointer and table saw, and sanding to a finish ready surface.
