Who is this suitable for: Over 16's with the relevant experience
This course is specifically designed to take your dressmaking/sewing skills to a more confident & professional level- if you have done the beginners dressmaking or stretch (tshirt/hoodie) course then this is perfect for you. During the 6 weeks you cover; laying out pattern pieces, grainline, bias of fabric, pattern markings, transferring pattern markings & notches.
Week One:
Reading the envelope, Measuring & sizings, Cross referencing finished garment measurements, Selecting a size, laying out pattern pieces, grainline, bias of fabric, pattern markings, transferring pattern markings & notches,
Week Two:
stay stitches, darts, Interfacing- facing, Shoulder seams & seam finishes; pinking shears, overlocker or over cast
Week 3:
Attaching a facing, clipping & understitching
Week 4:
Setting in sleeves
Week 5:
Gathering for peplum/dress versions and hems/hem finishes
Week 6:
Button holes/ poppers/ tie fastenings
