Swaffham Community Centre, The Campingland, Swaffham, PE37 7RBThe 6 hour Emergency First Aid at Work course is the most popular first aid qualification. This qualification helps employers to meet the minimum requirements for first aid in the workplace and is suitable for anyone who needs training in emergency first aid within a smaller, low risk working environment.
By the end of the course, successful candidates will be able to;
1. Understand the role and responsibility of a first aider
2. Assess an incident including conducting a primary survey,
3. Help a child or adult who is unresponsive and breathing normally
4. Help a casualty who is having a seizure
5. Help a child or adult who is unresponsive and NOT breathing normally
6. Administer CPR including using a defibrillator
7. Recognise and assist a child or adult who is choking
8. Help a casualty who is wounded and bleeding
9. Recognise and help a casualty who is in shock (from severe blood loss),
10. Help a casualty with a minor injury
11. Help a casualty with a suspected fracture.
All delegates will receive a course book and certification, valid for three years is dependent on successful continuous assessment, there is no final exam.
Refreshments are included but not lunch.
