Greetings, Gregorians! Welcome to the inaugural 5th GELC Intra English Language Festival of 2024. Are you a wordsmith seeking to dazzle the masses with your linguistic prowess? Do you yearn for a crucible to test your linguistic mettle and ascend to new heights of eloquence? If so, then look no further, for the GELC Intra English Language Festival is your linguistic sanctuary, a haven where you can both flaunt and hone your verbal virtuosity.đThis event is exclusively open to the students of St. Gregoryâs High School & College. It will be held on 1st November, 2024.Participants will have the opportunity to gauge their linguistic acumen through a series of intellectually stimulating segments, and the competition will be divided into five distinct categories.

Details of the segments:
đSolo Segments:
1. English Olympiad (J, S, HS):
The most important part of any English festival, the English Olympiad, will test your knowledge of English grammar, vocabulary, literature, and history.
Rules:
1. There will be 25 MCQ questions.
2. Time given will be 25 minutes.
2. Fictioanime Quiz (J, S, HS):
A thrilling quiz for fans of fiction and anime! 'The Fictioanime Quiz' will transport you to the magical worlds of Harry Potter, Marvel, DC, and anime, and challenge your knowledge.
Rules:
1.There will be 25 MCQ questions.
2.Time will be 25 minutes.
3. Change the story & Handwriting (J, S, HS):
Are you someone who has a unique imagination, someone who likes to create his own world through story writing? Do you like to write down your imagination with beautiful handwriting? This segment is for you.
Rules:
1. Few starting lines will be provided of a traditional story.
2. Participant will have to write an enticing story with beautiful handwriting.
4. Marathon (J, S, HS):
How fast can you find answers on Google? Let's see who can search for information the quickest!
Rules:
1. Participants will be given 40 questions to answer.
2. They will have to use Google to find the right answers as quickly as possible.
3. The time given will be 25 minutes. 4. Participants must bring their phones and have data.
5. Word Rearrange (K, P):
A unique and fun way to test vocabulary and spelling skills
Rules:
1. Some jumbled words will be given, and the participants must write the proper word.
6. Write out the name (K):
Names act as the identity for almost everything, so it's important to know them.
Rules:
1. Participants will be given some pictures.
2. They must write the correct names of the objects in those pictures.
7. Find out the word (P):
In this segment, participants will have to think outside the box to fill in black boxes of words.
Rules:
1. Participants will be given a passage with certain words missing.
2. They will have to find the correct word and fill it in.
Team Segment:
1.Language Championship (J, S, HS):
Do you know the four basic skills of a language: reading, writing, listening, and speaking? These are essential for learning English. In this segment, we will be combining all these skills into one test.
Rules:
1. This is a team-based segment.
2. The maximum number of members per team is 2.
2. Bingo (J, S, HS):
One of the surprising events which will test your intuitions and how much you know about your surroundings. Prepare yourself for the intense challenge and stretch your muscles to conquer the victory.
Rules:
The regulations of this segment will be announced on spot just before the beginning of the segment. Each team must have maximum two members.
3.Wall magazine:
Wall magazine is a vibrant platform for students to showcase their creativity and imagination. We eagerly anticipate a diverse array of designs exploring various themes and weaving captivating stories within this segment.
Theme & Topic: Open
Rules:
1. This is a team-based submission segment.
2. Each team must consist of a maximum of two members.
Submission based:
đWall magazine (Open):
It's a celebration of the art of storytelling through visuals and words. Participants will collaborate to curate visually captivating wall magazines that reflect their perspectives, passions, and insights, creating an immersive gallery of creativity.
Rules:
1. This is a team-based segment.
2. The maximum number of members per team is 3.
3. Topic: Open
Signature Segment:
đSquid Game (J, S, HS):
For the first time ever on our St. Gregory High School and College campus, we're organizing Squid Game in Intra! Get ready to dive into this thrilling competition.
Rules:
1. There will be three games. 2. Only the final survivor will be crowned the winner.
Registration Fee: 200 BDT.
Slots: 200.
Prize Details:
đThe top 3 participants from each category in solo and team segments will receive prizes.
đAll participants will receive a certificate of participation.
