Do you have indoor or outdoor plants that need divided? Looking to diversify the plant types in your yard? Friends of Westgate Park is hosting our 5th annual plant swap!Details:
FRIDAY (5/10) 5-7PM: Drop off plants at the swap location. We will sort the plants into categories and get them organized for the next day. Please bring your plant in a container that you don't mind parting with, like an old planter, plastic bag, or bucket. Please also include some identifying information if known, such as plant name, color, and any lighting preferences written on the container.
SATURDAY (5/11) 10AM-NOON: Come back to the swap location and pick out some new plants!
If you have no plants to share but would like to take one home, please consider a donation to Friends of Westgate Park as ‘payment’ for the plants. We will also be selling pots of annual Black Knight canna bulbs and Colocasia/elephant ear bulbs for VERY low cost. We can accept cash, card (via Square) and PayPal, and all funds raised will go toward Westgate Park improvements.
Here are some examples of plants that would work well for a swap: hostas, irises, black-eyed susans, ornamental grasses, sedum, purple coneflower, etc. Houseplants are welcome as well! We tend to get a LOT of daylilies, so please note that any leftover plants may end up being composted.

Parking for the day of the swap is available along Parkside Rd, as well as the large parking lot near the park. **Please do not park in any of the spots along Brinker Ave, as they are reserved for the fire department. Due to proximity to the fire dept, do NOT park along Brinker as the large ladder trucks use this road to reach the garage.**
The swap will take place outdoors, rain or shine, and we will have tents in the event of rain. We plan to also have coffee and light snacks available.
The swap is only as good as the variety of plants provided, so please share this event with anyone who might be interested. All are welcome; you do NOT need to be a Westgate resident to participate!
