About this Event
DC Healthy Start Sing Talk & Read (STAR) 5th Annual Father’s Day workshops are designed to encourage fatherhood involvement, promote early childhood literacy, and further develop a positive relationship between father and child. One of the ways parents can help shape successful futures for their children is by singing, talking and reading with their child every day.
The focus of this event is to encourage fathers to read with their children, while also learning knowledgeable parenting skills. There will be exciting workshops by DC Public library, full of books, songs, and fun games for children from birth to 2 years old. The event will also offer a variety of health screenings, fitness and nutrition demonstrations, information on government programs, and an opportunity for organizations and businesses to exhibit their services to the public.
