3 Days of training with skilled self defense instructors who are all certified in Split Second Survival. This seminar gives you the chance to train with and learn from multiple instructors with various backgrounds and experience. Giving you the chance to learn, ask questions, practice, and improve your skills.
All in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
Friday, Jan 23rd, 5-9pm
Open to all participants who want to sign up for this day or the full event:
Defense against unarmed attackers:
Methods for situational awareness
How to escape a situation and where to go in order to leave and get to safety
How to calm yourself and respond to an attacker even though you may be scared
Methods of responding to your attacker to de-escalate the situation
Wrist grabs, both single and double handed (to include grabs from the side or from behind)
Clothing grabs on all common locations of the body
Neck or choking situations (if this is difficult for any reason our instructors will be happy to let you watch and will not require you to try it out. Everyone is allowed to step back and only watch for any section that may be upsetting or triggering)
Hair / Hoodie / Backpack type grabs
Multiple assailants grabbing at once
How to quickly get off the ground and escape
Any other scenario requested by a participant
*We will aim to cover all scenarios but if time does not permit we may have to speed up or remove a scenario
Saturday, Jan 24th, 10am - 5pm
Open to all participants who want to sign up for this day or the full event:
Defense against attackers armed with bladed weapons:
Methods for situational awareness
How to escape a situation and where to go in order to leave and get to safety
How to calm yourself and respond to an attacker even though you may be scared
How to respond to an attacker pulling a knife
Methods of escape from an attacker with a weapon
Methods of responding to your attacker to de-escalate the situation
Knife attacks (to include from the side or from behind)
Knife at your neck or choking situations (if this is difficult for any reason our instructors will be happy to let you watch and will not require you to try it out. Everyone is allowed to step back and only watch for any section that may be upsetting or triggering)
How to respond to an attacker pulling a knife
There will be an hour lunch break in the middle of the event for everyone to go grab some food
*We will aim to cover all scenarios but if time does not permit we may have to speed up or remove a scenario
Sunday, Jan 25th, 10am - 5pm
Open to all participants who want to sign up for this day or the full event
Defense against attackers armed with firearms:
Methods for situational awareness
How to escape a situation and where to go in order to leave and get to safety
How to calm yourself and respond to an attacker even though you may be scared
How to respond to an attacker pulling a gun
Methods of escape from an attacker with a firearm
Methods of responding to your attacker to de-escalate the situation
Gun attacks (to include from the side or from behind)
Gun at a distance (if this is difficult for any reason our instructors will be happy to let you watch and will not require you to try it out. Everyone is allowed to step back and only watch for any section that may be upsetting or triggering)
There will be an hour lunch break in the middle of the event for everyone to go grab some food
We will build on previous concepts from the whole seminar and apply them to attackers with knives, guns, rope, or other weapons
How to escape from zip ties or duct tape around your wrists or ankles
How to escape from an attack and control your attacker in order to escape a room
How to respond to an attacker even if you need to escalate to a more aggressive response
There will be an hour lunch break in the middle of the event for everyone to go grab some food

What to Wear
Attire for all training evolutions, sections, and events will be street clothes. No martial arts uniforms, of any kind, will be worn. Participants should be able to move but also simulate the standard attire you would wear on a normal day. Split Second Survival is designed to train you for real life scenarios, no matter the clothing you may be wearing. All participants will be addressed by name, no titles or positions will be used within the training.
*By signing up you agree to learn and participate in maintaining a welcoming and friendly environment. Any participant who breaks this can be asked to leave the event. Please understand we want all to learn without any issue.
