Tribute to Georgia's Military Fallen Heroes and Their Families. 198 Hero Markers spread out over 164 miles in a Tribute Run from Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville to the Global War on Terrorism Memorial at Ft Benning. 🇺🇸✨🏃♀️🏃
Georgia “Run for the Fallen” will kick off on Friday morning, October 4th, 2024, at 6:45 a.m. at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, with a “start” ceremony for the three-day, 164 mile run through Gordon, Jeffersonville, Warner Robins, Ft Valley, Marshallville, Montezuma, Oglethorpe, Ellaville, Buena Vista, and Columbus and finish on Sunday, October 8th at the Global War on Terrorism Memorial at the Infantry Museum at Ft Benning.
The run team will stop at each “Hero Marker” HM to give individual tribute to waiting Gold Star family members, friends and comrades. The goal of the event is to create a 164-mile memorial trail through Georgia to honor and read the names of over 725 Fallen Heroes.
