The Club One Classic is back for a 5th year on Saturday, Aug 16!The Club One Classic is a powerlifting meet facilitated and ran by PLU (Powerlifting United AL) & Club One is the hosting venue. Not only will these athletes lift to compete against themselves and break some personal records, they will compete against others in their class & division and also compete against state & national records and try to qualify for Regional and National meets!
Powerlifting United (PLU) is committed to upholding the standards and structure necessary for all lifters to excel, from beginner to elite levels. Their mission is to continue elevating the sport of powerlifting by challenging the status quo, upholding fair and consistent standards, and uniting powerlifters on one platform.
The powerlifting meet consists of 3 main lifts - squat, bench, and deadlifts. Each competitor gets 3 attempts at each of the 3 lifts, beginning with squats, then bench press, then finishing the meet with deadlifts.
This event is hosted at Club One but the athletes are not just from our gym - although we do have some lifters representing for the home team! The competitors are from all over the state and surrounding areas in the Southeast.
Tickets will be available at the door on the day of the event. $10.00. Cash & Venmo accepted.
