Join the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute on May 3rd to celebrate the 5th annual Be A Part of the Cure Walk to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones, bring together families, businesses, schools and walkers throughout Arkansas united in finding a cure. A BIG THANK YOU to all who have supported this event. Your participation has grown over the years, rallying 1,600 participants and raising $400,000 in 2024 for cancer research.
The Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at UAMS is committed to providing outstanding cancer care throughout the state of Arkansas and working to find better treatments that improve the quality of life for those diagnosed with cancer. This includes the largest portfolio of cutting-edge clinical trials, including lifesaving early-stage trials. There is still much work and research that is needed to fulfill our ultimate goal to eliminate cancer.

Gates open at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 3rd at War Memorial Stadium with activities underway at 7 a.m. The field has an array of vendors offering information, retail and complimentary food. Our Growing Hope area welcomes survivors and their registered guest to enjoy a special experience. Random drawings, awards and a Kids Discovery Zone filled with fun and fitness add to the celebration. The formal program kicks off at 8 a.m. with a survivor photo on the field, followed by speakers and a warm up. Students from local schools and other local talent get the crowd moving at 8:30 a.m., providing entertainment and encouraging walkers along the 1K and 5K course. It's a morning of fun and camaraderie for the whole family!
