Week 1 – 5th September
Medium: Graphite Pencil
We begin with the fundamentals of still life drawing using graphite pencils. Learn essential techniques such as shading, proportion, composition, and capturing form and texture. A variety of objects will be arranged for you to sketch from direct observation, helping you develop creative eye and hand coordination.
Week 2 – 12th September
Medium: Acrylic Paint
In week two, we transition into colour with acrylics. You'll explore colour mixing, brushwork and layering techniques while recreating a vibrant still life scene. This session builds on the composition skills from Week 1 and adds the expressive quality of colour and acrylics.
Week 3 – 19th September
Medium: Your Choice (Graphite or Acrylic)
Subject: Human Form (Fully Clothed)
In our final session, we introduce a clothed model in a relaxed pose. This is a chance to apply your developing observational skills to a more dynamic subject. Capturing posture, fabric folds, and gesture. The focus remains on stillness, form, and storytelling through the detail.
If attending the full three-week course isn’t possible, each session is also available to book individually
A glass of Prosecco, tea, coffee, and all art materials are included. Feel free to bring your own drinks and nibbles too.
