Equanimity is a state of open hearted psychological stability that is undisturbed by the ever changing world of phenomena. It is a place of maturity and aliveness from which we are willing and able to say yes to every experience in the knowing that such experience cannot diminish us but drops us deeper into the mystery of life.
In this workshop we will widen the scope of our equanimity with grounded, responsive and spontaneous movement and dance, responding to each moment with our fullest breath, giving permission for our body to be alive and engaged.
We will use the 5Rhythms movement map to practice the art of embodied presence whatever the weather. We will use Gabrielle Roth's "F" map for inspiration; fluidity (flow); focus (staccato); freedom (chaos); funkiness (lyrical) and fulfilment (stillness). Through dancing alone, in partnership and all together we will reclaim and stabilise the truth, that our fundamental well being is not dependent upon life's endless cycles.
