About Sanga-of-the-Valley
Born in Trinidad, Sanga started playing African drums at an early age. In the beginning of 1970s, he moved to New York City, and became one of Babatunde Olatunju's students and spent 25 years as one of his lead djembe players. Sanga has worked with artists such as Carlos Santana, Nina Simone and the Grateful Dead. In 1989, he began working with working with Raven Recording and Gabrielle Roth.
