56th Annual Oktoberfest at the Turner HallFriday & Saturday October 10th and 11th. 2025
The Sacramento Turn Verein will hold its 56th Annual Oktoberfest at Turner Hall a celebration patterned after the world-famous Oktoberfest in Munich. The largest folk festival in the world has been a Bavarian tradition for 200 years.
Many Sacramentans have come to anticipate the Turn Verein’s Oktoberfest for the German music food and drink that they can find only at this event. The Sacramento Turners host two annual Bierfests as fundraising events and our Oktoberfest is great fun.
Entertainment includes German band Gruber Family Band in the Main Hall AKA LIVE band upstairs in the Festhall the Alpenmeisters in the Biergarten and performances by the Alpentänzer Schuhplattlers in the Main Hall.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Three kitchens and three bars dancing from 7:00 until 11:30 p.m. Saturdays hours are expanded opening at 3:00 p.m. with all activities available to enjoy until 11:30 p.m. The Kaffeehaus and outdoor Biergarten will be open throughout the evening with the Biergarten closing by 10 PM.
Kegs of authentic Oktoberfest beer shipped directly from Munich will be available for all to enjoy. Wine Champagne soft drinks also available.
Adult advance purchase tickets $25 adult tickets at the door while the last $30; children 6 to 12 $5.00; no charge for children under 6.
Note to the curious:
At the opening ceremony of the Munich Oktoberfest the mayor of Munich traditionally deals three strong blows to tap the first keg followed by the Bavarian shout “O ‘zapft is’!” (It’s tapped!). With that the Oktoberfest officially begins. Sacramento’s Oktoberfest will be opened with a similar ceremony and a grand flag march. We’ve invited local dignitaries to perform the traditional keg-tapping ritual.
