The Mississippi River Valley transforms into a bustling migratory path each winter, serving as a crucial route for various bird species, including waterfowl, raptors, and shorebirds. This makes it one of the premier bird-watching hotspots in the Midwest. Among the most awe-inspiring sights is the gathering of thousands of tundra swans, a phenomenon unique to this area during their southern migration. Guided by the knowledgeable Jim Nissen, we'll traverse this vibrant corridor, gaining insights into the diverse bird species. Following the tour, we'll enjoy a meal at the Blue Moon Restaurant in Onalaska, WI. Following lunch, we will continue our journey at the Onalaska Upper Mississippi River National Fish and Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center where you can delve deeper into the seasonal changes at the refuge, explore interactive displays, and brose the gift shop.Pre-registration is required.
