For over 50 years, Sierra Vista Fire & Medical Services firefighters have brought joy to local homes by ensuring families in need have something to unwrap for Christmas. The department’s Christmas Toy Drive is getting ready to serve 250 to 300 area families once again. Here’s how to help and how to apply for assistance.
Donations of new, unwrapped toys for kids newborn to 12 years of age and monetary contributions can be dropped off at any Sierra Vista Fire & Medical Services fire station until Friday, December 19. The department will also host three off-site toy donation drives on Wednesdays with the first being in the Arby’s parking lot from 4 to 6 p.m. on December 3, and the following two in the ACE Hardware parking lot from 4 to 6 p.m. on December 10 and December 17.
Firefighters also need assistance in bagging and delivering items. This is a drop-in volunteer opportunity. No pre-registration is required.
Bag & Tag: December 20 | 1 – 4 pm | Fire Station 1
Delivery: December 21 | 8 am | Fire Station 1
