The Fort Smith Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is an annual event in the River Valley which honors our public and military officials and authorities which lead, protect, and govern our local communities. The Fort Smith Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is the oldest event of its kind in the State of Arkansas and one of the oldest in the United States.Our speaker for this years event will be Retired Air Force Brigadier General John Teichert. General Teichert is graduate of MIT and Stanford University. He entered the US Air Force as an F-15E combat pilot and would go on to serve as an F-22 test pilot and eventually lead as the commander of Joint Base Andrews, the commander of Edwards Air Force Base, and our nation’s Senior Defense Official in Iraq. General Teichert ended his service in the Air Force as the Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of the Air Force, International Affairs. During his career, he logged over 2,000 flight hours in 38 different aircraft types.
Over 500 local business and community leaders are expected to attend this year’s event.
