About this Event
Join 52 Hike Challenge Washington Chapter on a lovely 6.5 mile loop snowshoe hike in the Mission Ridge Area. We will start at the Clara and Marion Lakes Trailhead hiking steeply uphill through dense trees to the turnoff for Clara and Marion Lakes. After exploring around the lakes we’ll return to the Squilchuck Trail and and follow that to Liberty-Beehive Road where we will have a nice downhill walk to the intersection with the Pipeline Trail while taking in sweeping views of the local mountains. Here we continue down the gently sloping Pipeline trail and finish our hike with a short steep downhill section back to the car.
When: Thursday March 6 at 10:00 AM. We will meet at the parking lot for the Clara and Marion Lakes Trailhead for introductions and giveaways.
Skill Level: Intermediate. Approximately 6.5 miles with 1,500 feet of elevation gain (most of this is in the first mile).
Be sure to wear adequate clothing layers and sunscreen and bring at least 2L of water, along with snacks and electrolytes. As always, please pack your 10 essentials for safety reasons!
As with all winter hiking, the avalanche forecast will be reviewed. If the danger is risky we will cancel this hike or change to a different hike.
